I am excited to be living in Hong Kong, China where I will be working on a variety of opera projects. I have several concert series coming up in addition to the birth of a new company that strives to bring opera to unusual audiences.

Olga Koussevitzky Young Artist Awards

I was so honored on Thursday evening to be one of the eight finalists to perform at Steinway Hall in NYC for the
Musician’s Club of New York Olga Koussevitzky Young Artist Awards. At the finals concert, I sang Handel’s Tornami a Vagheggiar from Alcina and Quel Guardo il Cavaliere..So Anch’io La Virtu Magica from Donizetti’s Don Pasquale. It was a wonderful experience with so many wonderful singers! Singing in this space for the very first time made me even more excited to perform there with my neo-classical chamber music group in January of 2011. The acoustics are fantastic, as is the hall itself (and, of course, the piano!).

I Palloni Volanti!

I am thrilled to be performing with Trio Counterpoint21 at the annual Flying Balloons Festival in Lucca, Italy in September, 2011. This festival honors Vincenzo Lunardi, the first person to fly a hot air balloon. If you are in the area, it is something not to be missed!

Birds of Omen Dark and Foul

It was really wonderful to have the opportunity to sing Birds of Omen for the composer, David Sherr yesterday. It is so interesting to meet a composer after working on their piece for weeks. You begin to feel like you really know them before you’ve even met! The text is quite haunting..it is from the poetry of Sir Walter Scott. Beautiful Summer

My wonderful summer is coming to a close very soon....it has been an exciting summer with a great deal of new music to learn. I’m so excited to be working with Counterpoint-21 on this wonderful project and I look forward to the interesting places it may take us...

I leave you with a photo taken by the wonderful Barone-Finarovsky Piano Duo, two of my favorite people...
